Research/Co-Op Requirement

Approval Form and Final Report

8-month full-time internship is a requirement in order to graduate from the Masters with Specialization in Multimedia Program. This internship/co-op element constitute 50% of the program credits. Students can conduct internship with industry or academic research group.

Students complete the internship/co-op(MM 807 & MM 808) in the third and fourth terms. The MM program collaborators are consulted consulted to define practical research projects or industrial application related projects. Depending on the collaborators’ locations, students have the opportunity to travel aboard but this arrangement is subject to the necessary visa approval. Students who are sponsored by their employers to register for the MM program can do internship/co-op with their employers.

MITACS is a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada for over 15 years. Our Multimedia Program and MITACS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, where MITACS has agreed to faciliate Multimedia students (at least 10 per year) to build partnerships with industries for the completion of MM Program student internships.
