Application Procedure for the Master with Specialization in Multimedia Program (MM)

Application Instructions

Please follow the instructions in this step-by-step guide carefully to prepare and submit your application.

To apply for the Master of Science with Specialization in Multimedia Program (MM), please make sure to select the following:

  • Faculty: Science
  • Academic Unit: Computing Science
  • Program: Master of Science (Course)
  • Area of Study: Multimedia

Proceed through the application portal to complete all required fields and submit the necessary documents. Any additional multimedia skills-related professional certificates and diplomas (beyond the required application documents) are recommended to be listed in the CV. Where applicable, the corresponding documentation should be included in the CV file at the time of upload.

Applicants are required to submit the application and pay the application fee before uploading any documents. The application will be reviewed once all required documents have been submitted.

English Language Proficiency (ELP) Test Scores:

  • TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo: Official score reports must be sent directly to the University of Alberta by the testing organization. Contact the testing office to request that your scores be sent electronically directly to the University of Alberta - Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies.
  • PTE, Cambridge, or CAEL: Upload a copy of your official score report through your Graduate Admission portal. If you are admitted, you will also need to request that an official copy of the report be sent directly from the testing organization to the University of Alberta.

Additional Notes:

  • MM applicants do not need to submit references.
  • MM applicants do not need to fill out the GARS application.
  • MM is a self-funded program; there is no financial support commitment (e.g., guaranteed TA or RA support) from the program.
